March 25, 2024 | The announcement was made this morning during the presentation of Radically Adolescents

From January 2025, all the first grade secondary schools of the city's 22 Comprehensive Institutes will also be open in the afternoon to carry out study support, socio-cultural and sports activities aimed at adolescents and families with the aim of promoting academic and educational success, sociality and continuous training.

The announcement was made this morning, by the mayor Matteo Lepore and the school councilor Daniele Ara, during the presentation of Radically Adolescents, the document that reports the strategy of the municipal administration of Bologna defined for and with adolescents, and which provides for new actions and services aimed at them.

“Today - commented Mayor Lepore - we present the fruit of two years of work, it was a priority of the mandate to offer families and adolescents these services in which we will invest 10 million euros in European resources between now and the end of the term”.

“A great commitment - adds Councilor Ara - that for the first time substantially integrates policies for our teenagers with all the policies of the city. Thanks to all the educating communities, to the schools, to the Education area and to the Districts. I will return to all the Districts to illustrate this plan and get to the heart of the various policies, meeting the Adolescent Tables.”

The strategy illustrated in the document is part of the actions to implement the Adolescence Plan of the City of Bologna and is the result of a listening path that, through The New Neighborhood Schools, the Public Investigation on the Rights of Childhood and Adolescence and the process of involving educators and educators in extracurricular services organized by the University of Bologna, between April 2022 and May 2023 involved more than 700 people including teachers, school leaders, educators, parents, girls/teenagers and, more generally, professionals in the socio-health, educational and cultural areas belonging to public bodies and the Third Sector

.

The document outlines the lines of development of the new projects and the policies with which it is intended to respond to growing educational challenges: in addition to the stages, outcomes and data that emerged from the listening process, there are in fact ten actions for the future. Of the ten actions, five were defined in collaboration with the Department of Welfare and Promotion of Community Wellbeing and the Department of Culture, Sports and Promotion of the City of the Municipality of Bologna, and five were promoted by the Education, Education and New Generations Area, in collaboration with the Rusconi Ghigi Urban Innovation Foundation and the Territorial School Educational Services (SEST) of the Districts, starting from what emerged from the Shared Programming of educational policies aimed at young people and adolescents, carried out on May 26 2023.
