The sustainable mobility project dedicated to schools in Bologna is back

We Are Born to Walk is the campaign aimed at boys, girls and parents of primary schools to promote sustainable pedestrian mobility, starting with home-school routes.
We Are Born to Walk aims to educate, through their leadership, children and families in a new culture of mobility, which overturns the order in the priority of the use and the value of means of transport, which today starts with the car and ends at the foot when you just can't do without them.

The 2025 edition of We Were Born to Walk has the subtitle The Singing City, with the idea that boys and girls can listen to it, reaching out to capture its emotions and thoughts, understanding what is necessary to transform and improve it. And give her a voice, telling her what she needs to be well, what are the behaviors that give her life and energy, which instead make her sad.

From 17 to 29 March 2025, the city's schools that have joined the project will be engaged in a real sustainable mobility competition: a contest that invites everyone to experiment with ways to go to school in a sustainable way. On foot or by bike, but also with scooters, rollerblades, skateboards and, of course, the Pedibus.

We were born to walk is a campaign promoted and coordinated by Arpae and the Emilia-Romagna Region, with the support of the Bologna Antarctic Center.
