The City of Bologna joins the international network

The City of Bologna has officially joined the City of Children project, an initiative conceived by the pedagogue and research associate at the CNR Francesco Tonucci, which aims to transform urban space into a more livable, safe and inclusive place for children and adolescents. The idea behind the project is simple but revolutionary: a city designed for children is a better city for all people.

Through this membership, the Municipality undertakes to promote the gradual autonomy of children, creating safe and accessible paths, welcoming public spaces and opportunities for active participation in city life. Another central element of the project is listening to the needs of children and young people, so that they can contribute ideas and proposals to the construction of a city that is more attentive to their needs.

Joining the project “The City of Children” confirms the commitment to improving the quality of urban life for all citizens, strengthening the sense of community and making public spaces more usable, safe and sustainable. An important step towards a fairer and more livable city for all generations.
